Description
This lot contains 6 x 70cl bottles all part of the committee release from Ardbeg distillery between 2019 and 2022 -
- Supernova Committee Release 2019 - Exclusively released to Ardbeg Committee members in September 2019, this is the fifth and latest release of the Ardbeg Supernova. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, this limited edition, non-age- statement release is described as having aromas of ‘pungent aniseed, menthol and eucalyptus’, with a ‘nebula of bonfires, soot, charred oak, birch tar and menthol’ on the palate. 53.8% ABv, 70cl.
- Arrrrrrrdbeg End of an Era Committee Release 2020- A bottling in honour of the legendary Distillery Manager and Committee Chairman Mickey who is departing after a great 13 years. Captain of the good ship, he is now retiring and so this special bottle has been created to commemorate his service. A special treasure indeed fit for the saltiest of seadogs. This release really is the end of an era. The dram within has been matured in solely ex rye casks. 51.8% ABV, 70cl
- Blaaack 20th Anniversary Committee Release 2020 - This release celebrates 20 years of releases with the Ardbeg Blaaack. This limited edition is feisty and unique in the same breath. Its the first time in the distilleries history that they have used Pinot Noir casks from the country that lies the furthest distance from Islay - New Zealand. 50.7% ABV, 70cl.
- Scorch - Committee Release 2021 - A Committee Release from Ardbeg, the Scorch was released to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2021. A truly unique dram, the Scorch was matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks that have been charred, giving the Ardbeg a sweet smokey flavour. 51.7% ABV, 70cl.
- 13 Year Old Fermutation - Committee Release 2022 - a Committee-only limited edition released in 2022. The result of a happy accident, this 13-year-old dram is the delicious consequence of an unplanned experiment due to a broken boiler in 2007. It resulted in the longest fermentation in Ardbeg’s history. This combined with Ex-bourbon casks, both 1st and refill eventually gave rise to a wild, zingy and vibrant spirit. 49.4% ABV, 70cl.
- Ardcore - Committee Release 2022 - The 2022 Ardbeg Special Committee Release was created with roasted Black Malt Barley that defines its distinctive profile. Its charcoal, sweet smoke, dark chocolate and aniseed notes create a combination 'like biting a spikey ball'.
