Description

Ardbeg distillery, found on the south coast of Islay, has been producing whisky since 1798. The commercial aspect of the distillery began production in 1815 and for most of its history, the whisky was used for blends rather than as a single malt.
In the 1800s Ardbeg was producing 300,000 gallons a year. However, tough times throughout the Scotch Whisky industry followed and the distillery closed for quite some time. However, Glenmorangie PLC saw the calibre of the distillery and purchased it in 1996. It then was bought over by the French giants LVMH on the 28th of December 2004.

Michael "Mickey" Heads, took the reigns at Ardbeg on 12 March 2007 until 2020. Hailing from Islay originally, Mickey was a former manager at Jura distillery and had previously worked at Ardbeg years earlier. Now, the new manager, Colin Gordon is set to take over the helm and drive the company forward to even further success.

This guaranteed 25 Year old by Ardbeg has been produced from incredibly rare casks which were filled during some of the distillery's darkest day's. Known for its peated whiskies this is one of Ardbegs oldest aged whisky to join the core range. This expression proves that age cannot tame Ardbeg’s smoky power, but also that it can yield some of the most complex and majestic flavours ever from Ardbeg Distillery.
