Description

Distilled at the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown in 1995, matured in a single cask fresh sherry hogshead #457 before being bottled 20 years later by Capital Whisky Club at a strength of 51.4% ABV. This is one of only 206 bottles.

This bottle is a Capital Whisky Club members' release only made available to members and partner bars. One of the partner bars closed down, and so the club has decided to auction its bottle in aid of Unicef's Somalia Appeal.

Unicef's Somalia Appeal aims to address the growing humanitarian crisis caused by the East African Drought. The Humanitarian Action for Children helps to support the agency's work as it provides conflict and disaster affected children with access to water, sanitation, nutrition, education, health and protection services.

The key planned results for 2022 are; 1.1 million primary cargivers receiving infant and young child feeding counselling, 2.5 million people accessing a sufficent quantity of sade water, 300,000 children caregivers accessing mental health and pyschosocial support, and 300,000 children accessing educational services.

Help Unicef reach their goals for 2022 by bidding on this bottle to make a donation.

Prior to any bid being placed on a lot, close up visual inspection is to be carried out. If you are unsure in any way about the condition of the said lot, click “ask a question” above. More in-depth descriptions and additional photos can be taken upon request. Otherwise, lots are sold as seen in the pictures. The bidder understands that once you have bid, you are stating you understand this and that the checks stated above have been carried out and you are happy with the lot's condition.

TGWA may try to highlight conditions of interest of lots being sold in the auction. The majority of the items being sold are of second-hand nature and TGWA cannot be held responsible for any conditions that may not have been specified when listing the lots on the site. Thus, the bidder fully understands, prior to confirming a bid they are happy with the condition of the lot, whether it has conditions noted or otherwise.

Should there be a discrepancy between the photo and the lot title/description, the photograph holds the precedent. No claim can be lodged against a misdescribed item as all lots are sold as seen.

Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, the condition of liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against failure/leakage in transit. Loss and breakage cover is available at 3% of the hammer price as standard. If the lot is not insured, no claim can be lodged against the courier or The Grand Whisky Auction for breakage or loss in transit.
