Description

The birthplace of Japanese Whisky, Yamazaki is Suntory’s flagship single malt. Founded in 1923 by Suntory’s founder Shinjiro Torii, Yamazaki Distillery is Japan’s first and oldest malt distillery.

Torii selected the location for Yamazaki Distillery at the foot of Mount Tennozan for its trusty water source and natural environment inspired by the typical climate for traditional Scottish whisky making. What makes the distillery so unique are its stills - they vary in shape, arm position and fire type. This allows the distillers great flexibility when making their tremendous malt.

Not only is the whisky highly praised worldwide due to its signature multidimensional taste, but Yamazaki has much intelligence when it comes to their designs. There is purpose in the bottle shape with the bottle tops echoing the shape of a pot still, a gesture to tradition and craftsmanship.

This is an older expression of the Yamazaki single malt, a 25-year-old which has been fully matured in the finest oloroso sherry casks.

Using traditional Washi paper depicting the bamboo forests of Yamazaki and coming in a Paulownia wood case, this limited edition bottle is perfect as the best of gifts. The bottle and case have been sealed with a five-cord "Mizuhiki" symbolizing the human hand-joining the hand and heart of the giver with the recipient, this design is the essence of Japanese Hospitality.
