Description

Rumours of the resurrection of this closed distillery have flourished from time to time during the last decade. A few years ago, the owner commissioned an estate agent to sell the buildings and convert them into flats. Shortly after that, Chivas Bros withdrew it from the market. In 2012, the owners announced that a new distillery would be built on the site, ready to start producing in 2015.

Demolition of the old distillery began in the spring of 2015 and the new Dalmunach Distillery was commissioned. In over a century. Imperial distillery was out of production for 60% of the time, but when it was produced it had a capacity of 1.6 million litres per year.

Distilled in 1995 at the Imperial Distillery, this single malt was matured for 27 years in a single cask before bottling at a strength of 50.4% ABV in 2023.

This is one of only 160 bottles produced as a special reserve for the Silver Seal Whisky Company.
