Description

Founded in 1799, Bowmore is Islay’s oldest licenced distillery, and home to one of the world’s oldest Scotch maturation warehouses, the No.1 Vaults. Bowmore operated well throughout the years, however their great reputation only came about when Wm & Jas. Mutter acquired the distillery in 1837. This led to Windsor Castle requesting a cask of Bowmore in 1841.

In the early 60s, Stanley P. Morrison acquired the distillery, this era saw the start of a great period in Bowmore’s history, the mid-60s bottlings are seen as being legendary. Now with Suntory having full control since 1994, Bowmore is still thriving to this day as one of the very few Scottish distilleries that use their own Malt Barn.

This collaboration between Bowmore and Aston Martin creates timeless beauty and a lasting legacy. It brings together the fascinating spirit of Bowmore and the innovative style of Aston Martin as perspectives and perceptions are redefined with this iconic synergy.

Arc-52 is a striking creation which celebrates the definition of balance; past meeting present, function meeting style and where character is intensified. It is a futuristic take on a whisky vessel design, seen in some of the world's most elite car visionaries, a truly cutting-edge depiction of modern technology.

Distilled in 1968 during the Morrison Bowmore era, the whisky inside this decanter aged quietly for 52 years in the unique microclimate of the No.1 Vaults warehouse. It is a marriage of vintage single malt matured in a sherry butt and an American oak ex-bourbon hogshead. This 52 year old showcases the masterful skill and great commitment to considered cask maturation and management at Bowmore.

The Bowmore Arc-52 is one of only 100 exceptionally rare, individually numbered decanters released.
