Description

Tomatin distillery was founded in 1897 by the Tomatin Spey Distillery Company, located in the Highlands between Aviemore and Inverness. Going through various fluctuations in production whilst growing from 2 stills to 23 stills throughout the 60s and 70s before going into liquidation. In 1985 the Distillery was purchased by long-term Japanese customer, Takara Shuzo Co. and Okara & Co. thus becoming the first Scottish distillery to be under Japanese management. Latter the prestigious Antiquary blender J&W Hardie was added to the portfolio, and the distillery was bought by Marubeni. In more recent years production has been downsized to utilise just 10 stills and the decision was made to focus on the single malt range, such as the ‘Cu Bocan’ expression released in 2013.

This signature style Tomatin 12-Year-Old was released in celebration of the 125th anniversary of Tomatin. Matured in both Bourbon & Sherry casks, this Scotch Whisky boasts a smooth and fruity aroma with a buttery finish.
