Description

Grand Drams, based in Inverness, Highlands, are dedicated to bringing you the “Quintessence of Fine Spirits” through their specially selected bottlings from across the globe. Grand Drams have created a world first... Whisky, AI & Art combined, offering the opportunity to purchase very limited artwork NFTS associated with specially selected bottlings.

This Bruichladdich single cask has been specially selected for Grand Drams first release. It is a 15-year-old Old Single Malt, matured in a first-fill Sherry Hogshead, bottled at its natural colour, non-chill filtered and a strength of 50.3% ABV.

The label is the first of its kind and has been created using AI. As some will remember, in the 1990 TV series House of Cards Chief Whip Francis Urquhart offers reporter Mattie Storin a glass of Bruichladdich when she arrives for an interview, remarking, “Bruichladdich, if you know your malts.”

Tasting Notes by Jim McEwan
Colour – Brilliant Deep Amber with a Tawny Hue
Aromas – Opens on a beautiful marine overture which underpins the rich fruity notes from the Oloroso-soaked staves. The sweetness from the barley forms a halo which encapsulates the very heart of Islay maturation. With little hints of almonds, Heather, honey and Islay grown barley on a western breeze, this is unpeated Islay at its very best.
Taste – At this age, the spirit and the oak are as one. The sweetness of sherry works beautifully with the malted barley providing a unique flavour that is balanced and held beautifully by the strong Spanish staves. To find Bruichladdich in a sherry Butt is rare due to the shortage of said casks. The team who created this beautiful spirit have no computers, their skill has come from those who went before them since 1881. It is a rare and wonderful dram, enjoy!!
