Description

Macallan - Home Collection - River Spey, the second edition in their annual release series inspired by The Macallan Estate, with the series celebrating the various elements that anchor the famous Speyside Scotch distillery and that have helped establish it.

The Distillery celebrates the River Spey, a proud symbol of Scotland, which is what Speyside is named after. The river runs through the Speyside region, providing water to the Macallan Estate.

The River Spey is a designated special conservation site and has been a popular spot for Atlantic salmon fishing. Macallan has regularly worked with various ecological parties to sustain a charitable partnership with The Atlantic Salmon Trust to help conserve the wildlife in the River Spey sanctuary.

Crafted from European and American oak and refill casks, this whisky also pays tribute to The Macallan’s time-honoured traditions and community spirit. Opening with rich raisin and sultana on the nose and a velvety palate of butterscotch, chocolate, and nutmeg, the finish is well balanced with toasted oak spice.

This set contains a 70cl bottle and 3 limited edition Giclee art prints by artist Michelle Lucking. Michelle celebrates the river Spey with her original pastel paintings for the whisky. Her obsession with detail and finger-painting technique brings the river to life, capturing the river with remarkable realism and intensity.
