This limited edition release is part of the Masters of Wood series from GlenAllachie Distillery. The series celebrates the exceptional casks Billy Walker and his team have to offer. This incredible new expression has been matured for 17 years in a combination of Mizunara barrels, Oloroso puncheons and hogshead casks.
Bottled at 50% ABV, natural colour and non-chill filtered.
Mizunara Japanese oak is very rare and very rarely used to mature whisky, it's expensive and challenging for coopering and maturation. The trees must be grown to be around 200 years old before being felled, which is twice the age of most species used for casks.
